Food Additives
Food colourings and additives can cause a range of health problems in both children and adults. For example, tartrazine (yellow food colouring, E102) and other additives have been linked to allergic reactions, headaches, asthma, growth retardation and hyperactivity in children. Many of the foods we eat contain a plethora of food additives
Some food additives are hydrogenated fats (also known as trans-fats) and these have been directly linked with increased rates of heart disease, cancer and skin disease.
Bright does not mean goodAll artificial colourings and sweeteners are banned in certified organic food. A wide range of natural organic sweeteners is available to sweeten food and beverages.
